The southwest monsoon is bringing hot and showery weather to the south China coastal areas. At 8 p.m., Typhoon Ewiniar was centred about 890 kilometres south-southeast of Okinawa. It is forecast to move north-northwest at about 12 kilometres per hour in the general direction of Ryukyu Islands.
