The southwest monsoon brought unsettled weather to the south China coastal areas today. Locally, it was cloudy with thundery showers in the morning. More than 40 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over Tuen Mun, Tai Po, Sai Kung and Northern District. The southwest monsoon is expected to persist over the south China coastal areas tomorrow. At 11 p.m., Tropical Storm Bilis was centred about 1330 kilometres southeast of Taibei. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour in the general direction of the seas east of Taiwan.
